This week was a recovery week. My training plan is a three week cycle with the first two weeks increasing duration and/or intensity about 10% and the third week a recovery week at about 75% of the last week. How that gets calculated and balanced is a little complicated and I doubt anyone else cares. The important point is to push without getting injured or sick.
I have not been very successful with that point over the last two years. So this year I am doing a lot more resting. It drives me crazy.
As an aside, it is the running and swimming that force me to a three week plan. When I trained for ultra-cycling events (2-3 thousand mile rides) I worked off a 4 or 5 week cycle.
